A variadic function must have at least one fixed parameter. However,
any excess arguments are ignored (though they're evaluated before the
call). For example, this:
printf("%d\n", 42, i++);
is legal. It will have the side effect of incrementing i, but the value
is quietly ignored. (It might produce a compile-time warning, since
it's likely to be a logical error.)
