For example a call to dlopen() by the programmer in the latter case.

Dynamic linking imply the use of a dynamic linker at run-tine which load
and link the library only at start-up by the initiative of the system.

Dynamic loading can be see as a special case of dynamic linking but the loading
process is initiated by the programmer.

For me it's cystal clear that loading is more relevant to describe the
programmer action on the linking process.

Bad programmers do bad things such as disk cache or swap file. What else?

Programmers couldn't blame the system vendor for providing bad code.

As I said you only save space to waste time with shared libraries. Nobody is
forced to use broken system libraries... because the end product is under the
responsiblity of the programmer.
