C++ threading isn't necessary given the vast majority of C++ programs are
non portable anyway or if they are have a huge amount of #ifdefs already.

If they're going to do threading they should do it properly or don't bother.

C++ threading is a lot more convenient than operating system dependent
threading. And you've to learn it only once and not in every OS-depen-
dent way.
