Can I use mathematical symbols as they are used in LaTeX, as labels in gnuplot? Right now I want the infinity symbol, which is rendered as $\infty$, but I often want other mathematical symbols, $...$ as labels. Can this be done? How? -- Dieter Britz

Or better yet, use the tikz terminal (and usepackage{gnuplot-lua-tikz} in your LaTeX document).

without starting any longer discussion, I think both the tikz and the
epslatex terminal have their advantages and disadvantages ;-)
