I run a program that accepts some data and I want some of that in a subsequent gnuplot title. Let's say the data is the number N. Here is the script I run, briefly: ifort proggie.f90 ./a.out << eoi N eoi rm a.out # gnuplot << eoi set term postscript... set title "........." ... etc How do I get the data N into the title? -- Dieter Britz

from your f90 program write a gnuplot command in a new file mytitlefile: mytitle = " TITLE with variable 42 " if N=42 load this file in gnuplot and use the variable: load "mytitlefile" set title = mytitle
