Hi,
Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the latest 4.5 User Manual?
The download site has been broken for some days now, and there isn't a
copy in the cvs download.

I am trying to get the documentation from this page:
http://www.gnuplot.info/development/index.html
via the line that says:
Version 4.3 (sic) demo gallery and documentation

Cheers,
Peter

PS - the error message is:
An error has been encountered in accessing this page.

1. Server: gnuplot.sourceforge.net
2. URL path: /docs_cvs/
3. Error notes: NONE
4. Error type: 403
5. Request method: GET
6. Request query string: NONE

Reporting this problem: The problem you have encountered is with a
project web site hosted by SourceForge.net. This issue should be reported
to the SourceForge.net-hosted project (not to SourceForge.net).

If this is a severe or recurring/persistent problem, please do one of the
following, and provide the error text (numbered 1 through 7, above):

Contact the project via their designated support resources.
Contact the project administrators of this project via email (see the
upper right-hand corner of the Project Summary page for their usernames)
at user-name@users.sourceforge.net

If you are a maintainer of this web content, please refer to the Site
Documentation regarding web services for further assistance.

NOTE: As of 2008-10-23 directory index display has been disabled by
default. This option may be re-enabled by the project by placing a file
with the name ".htaccess" with this line:

Options +Indexes

If you are building from a downloaded copy of the cvs source tree, then
the matching full documentation is a build target.
    cd docs
    make pdf
       or
    make pdffigures
       or
    make info

or whatever form you prefer for reading documentation.

Version 4.3 is indeed pretty old, so it's not surprising that link fails :-)

I'll look into updating the development web page, but gnuplot.info
is a mirror site, so it might take a while to show up there.
Obviously any snapshot copy of the manual lags the current state of
the CVS source code.

Thanks for that. Works fine once I remembered to do:
./prepare
./configure
before:
cd docs
make pdf

Cheers,
Peter
