trigger this, but it sounds very much non-fatal to me.

Do you have any actual problem with character display?

Hi Karl, thanks.  Yes, there was that additional sentence I didn't include, because I didn't think it to be part of the error.   I thought the error was  "terminal type set to wxt." I seem to remember that I ruled that out during installation.

But all that aside, I think you're right.  I do seem to have functionality, using a DOS-like command line.  This is a very raw setup, without the GUI we expect in current software.  I'll have to read the documentation to learn the commands and how to use the software.  Thanks again.

You have started the "console version". The other "gnuplot" item in
your start menu starts the one with a rudimentary GUI.

Karl, thanks again.  I'm running Gnuplot that has two lines of menus across the top of the page.
