Hello,

I'd like to shade a filled curve like this example (bottom of the page):

http://www.bergfex.at/sommer/furth-an-der-triesting/touren/wanderung/25899,zur-enzian-huette-auf-dem-kieneck/

Is this possible in and how?

It is not possible in gnuplot.

Bummer! What I did instead is:

plot '-' using 1:2 with filledcurves x1 linewidth 2 \
linecolor rgb "blue" fillstyle solid 0.5

This looks also quite nice. What I was looking for was:

set palette defined (0 "#8888ff", 1 "#ffffff")
plot ... fillstyle palette

or something like this. Thanks for your prompt reply!

It is possible in an indirect way: First, create shaded background with
the desired colour pattern, i.e. light to satureted green in your
example (e.g. by using gnuplot's image style). Then, do your plot with
filledcurves coloured with a solid colour (white in your example).

Best wishes,

Ingo
