I have read the gnuplot 4.6 manual, searched this group and the net, checked the gnuplot.ini file--and still am unable to make it work. How exactly do I set the GNUPLOT_LIB parameter and use the loadpath command so that gnuplot automatically points to a certain folder, e.g., C:\Data\Spectroscopy\UV and makes it a working directory upon starting?

You didn't find that because setting the working directory has nothing to do with what these options do. If you want to change the initial working directory, you have to do that as part of the way you _start_ gnuplot (e.g. on MS Windows it's a parameter of the desktop shortcut settings).

Yep, I plead guilty of a nomenclature transgression as charged. Not that it changes much ;-) > I suggest you > look up that term in MS's sorry excuse for an operating system's user > manual... > > > and use the loadpath > > command so that gnuplot automatically points to a certain folder, > > e.g., C:\Data\Spectroscopy\UV and makes it a working directory upon > > starting? > > You didn't find that because setting the working directory has nothing > to do with what these options do. Thank you; that's the obvious answer I was looking for (and should have figured it out myself...)
