is there a way to redefine the datablock separator for selective multiblock plotting?

I'm block trying to plot blocks of x,y data from large output files in which the datablocks are separated by three lines of double space each, followed by a two-line column title subblock, then a line with a parameter--and only then hundreds of numerical records to be plotted.

Can I avoid preprocessing the files to get rid of the triple lines of double spaces, and then use indexing, not the 'every' parameter?  If it's possible, how would I select particular block numbers?
