Dear steve g,

I admit I did not consider shortwave radio for language learning. A
friend of mine suggested we'd group up and learn French together, and
we're currently planning to visit Alliance Francaise this week. I hope
that works out.

I mean, I'll be renewing my own knowledge, and she'll be learning from
scratch. I'm sure both of us will have lots of fun.

I've added comp.edu.languages.natural to this discussion.

Happy French in comp.lang.lisp!

You could also try Youtube. But it's best to do it in real-life face to
face conversations.

Neither did I; I got into and argument with a blind fellow using a
braille terminal. "I am a real shithead", I said.

I don't know how good you at HAM, but france24 used to come in. It's
usually english, but it is something.

I just found these.

9790 kHz (French to West Africa, evening UTC)
11700 kHz (French to East/Central/West Africa, morning UTC)
11790 kHz (French/African languages to West Africa)
15300 kHz (RFI relays, daytime broadcasts)

I wish I had the range. Let me know if you can get vietnam/china or HKJ
Japanese news (they have great cooking shows!)
