#11127 — Access 2003: Query Stopped Referencing Values On Form ?

I have a query that refers to fields like
[forms]![frmHome]![txtAsOfDate] and
[forms]![frmHome]![txtTradingAccountID]

The query has been working for years and years.

Now, suddenly, it seems to not be seeing those values - running the
query "Manually", not from VBA. It doesn't abend, just returns an
empty result set.

The fields are there on the form and populated.

When I clone the query and replace the refs with explicit values, it
returns the expected result set.

Anybody else been here?

Windows 7, SP1.

Maybe check by opening frmHome and verifying the text box field names didn't change.

I vaguely remember something similar,
so have you checked that txtAsOfDate and txtTradingAccountID are the form’s
field names and not the name of the field’s ControlSource?

If they are OK, have you tried a Compact & Repair?

I can’t remember whether there was a bug in Access, but have you tried
re-installing Access and applying SP3?

One other thing you might want to do...add some columns. Ex: Your criteria might read Forms!MyForm!TextBox1. OK, take that Forms!MyForm!TextBox1 and create a column with it. Run the query, see what that column contains. Is it the expected value or blank?

I had trouble with forms in an application developed and changed over years with various versions of
Access. Controls had been added and deleted over the years. Eventually I re-created the forms by
selecting and copying all the controls from the old forms. The problems stopped.
