after working on it this is what I came up with
   Dim DteHold As Date
   DteHold = DateSerial(YEAR(Now), month(Now), 1)

   If Weekday(DteHold) = vbSaturday Then
      Me.Text2 = DateAdd("d", 2, DteHold)
   ElseIf Weekday(DteHold) = vbSunday Then
      Me.Text2 = DateAdd("d", 1, DteHold)
   Else
      Me.Text2 = DteHold
   End If

bobh.

That looks good. You could shorten it a little as follows:

	Dim DteHold As Date
	Dim intWeekday as Integer

	DteHold = DateSerial(YEAR(Now), month(Now), 1)
      	intWeekday = Weekday(DteHold, vbMonday)
	If intWeekday > 5 Then DteHold = DteHold + Abs((intWeekday-8))

Are there any holidays that would occur on the first Monday of a month?
