#12657 — Access 2002 Service Packs?

Message-ID<2238lc9p8ukfos5v1rp0o27msqm03mb592@4ax.com>
I just spent over an hour trying to find SP2 and SP3 for Access 2002, but came up empty. Are
they still available?

I have an Access 2002 factory install cd, but would like to have the service packs on hand
before I upgrade from 2000.

Anybody have links?

I really wouldn't know. If I had to find it, I know I'd be searching the Microsoft web site.

Me, I'd bypass A2002, A2003, A2007 and start at least at A2010 and above. A2002 is no longer supported.

That would probably be my choice too, but at work they're fixed on 2002 (at least for the
forseeable future). And my work at home is to support my work at work ;-0

I found I was about 3 times more productive with Access 2010 than prior versions. Even tho I have used the older versions in the past, I would not want to work on a old technology job. There's no benefit. Is it the software cost a factor that stops an upgrade to something modern? I wouldn't even know where one could find a vendor for A2000 or A2002. A garage sale?

I don't think so--it's a government office of a large western US state. They have gone to
Office 2010 for everything except Access.

I found a factory, unopened CD for Access 2002 on ebay, but it doesn't include the SPs, for
which I've seen references up to SP3, and patches after that.

I have now found SP1 for *Office* 2002 (xp), but I don't know how that would work for just
Access.

Or maybe, after installing 2002, Windows Update might offer up the service packs? I dunno.

Works fine - it'll just update the components you have installed.

Thanks Joan!

I got SP1: Oxpsp1.exe; 17.4 MB (18,330,960 bytes)

But SP2: oxpsp2.exe; 1.21 KB (1,245 bytes)

And SP3: officexpsp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe; also 1.21 KB (1,245 bytes)

SPs 2 & 3 don't look realistic to me. And to get those from the links you gave above, I had to
right-click and choose "Save link as". If I just left-clicked, a page came up stating that the
files are no longer available.
