I have a number of reports where it is possible to hide controls or change the caption of control=92s labels. To do this, I have to select the control= by name and give the appropriate instruction to hide it or change the caption.= All works perfectly. To make this easy to do, I need to see the report with the control name rather than their contents. With difficulty I have written a routine which copies the original report to MyReportDummy, removes all the code from MyReportDummy and adds code to show the control name. Basically this works.= The end of the routine looks like this. DoCmd.Close acReport, NewReportName, acSaveYes DoEvents DoCmd.OpenReport NewReportName, acViewPreview For some reason this opens the report with the control value showing i.e. t= he original report. It is only after closing it manually and either opening it= manually from the navigation pane or programmatically from a command button= that the MyReportDummy opens showing the field names. Have tried the Close, DoEvents, Open bit several times with no success. Ant bright ideas please Phil --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
