Thanks Patrick.

I copied the back end database from the other computer onto a usb drive, then opened the two versions side-by-side, and it's clear that the tables are out of sync. Same ID numbers show different data in multiple places in the active tables.

I did not delete and re-add the tables, but I did refresh the links via the linked table manager.

After some conflict with my SysAdmin I showed him 2 screenshots of the same directory showing the same file names with 2 different file sizes and file dates, and he's working with me on the assumption that it's a very strange network problem and not an Access issue.

When I sit at his workstation to and view the back-end tables in Windows Explorer the file size is 2840 KB and the added records are there. From my workstation the file size is 2836 KB and the added records are not there.

A knowledgeable sysadmin who does not know Access thought it could be a file-locking setting in Access. I doubt this because I have not seen or heard of this but I'm not sure.

(To be fair, I also don't fully believe this, but every way I look at it, it's happening.) I'm running a virtual desktop on a Windows 10 OS, the other guy is running his virtual desktop on Windows 7.
