Hello and begging the group's indulgence. Been away from ngs in general for a few years as access difficult. New PC with Win10 now (and a working DVD writer again <g>), and glad to see this ng still around! <g> But I've found other FMP resources less plentiful than before. Since I can't justify upgrading my old FMP bought years ago, which saves to old FP5 format, if any kind soul here knows a source of old templates, that would be grand - i.e., there used to be solutions examples in a couple of forums I used to access but I've not been able to find any FMP website from before that I recognize. The dozen or so files I still have after the old PC crash, my own files included, are pretty much just simple or resource ones that aren't full-fledged solutions. But since I'm not finding an application for an old problem, would be grand to just build it myself and FMP is always the best for that (vs. MS or Lotus, the latter to which I don't even have access to anymore <g>). TIA for any help! Much appreciated. Cheers.

FileMaker Pro always comes with a pile of example files / templates ...
but the quality (and bugginess!) of some of them leaves a bit to be
desired, so they aren't a great advert for what FileMaker Pro can do.
There's quite a few web-based forums / websites, some of which will
still have old messages with FileMaker Pro 5 links, but whether those
links still work or not is a completely different question. Some of the
main ones include:
- Worldwide Filemaker Community
http://fmforums.com
- FileMaker Community
https://community.filemaker.com
- FileMaker Today
http://www.filemakertoday.com
- Planet FileMaker
http://planetfilemaker.com
Plus of course in here. I'm still using FileMaker Pro 4 and 5. I did
recently install FileMaker Pro 7 too, so will probably start moving
into that when I can since it doesn't require the Mac's Classic
environment. (But I will still need FileMaker Pro 4 for some databases
since that's the only version I have with the Binder / standalone
creation option.)
Helpful Harry :o)

I knew I'd missed one or two of the above <g>. And, yes, I hear you. I paid so much for my version so many years ago yet it still does the job that I'm reluctant to shell out more for something I use only for a handful of specific tasks when the existing solutions do the job so well <g>. FMP still rocks the best, I feel! <g> Thanks and best regards.
