I have just purchased Filemaker 14 and after installation I am dead in the water. Once the program installed, deleting Filemaker 11 in the process, I get a screen that does not make any sense at all. All I want to do is access my files so I can continue doing data entry, but I cannot figure out how to do this. My first thought is delete Filemaker 14 and revert back to Filemaker 11. Doug

Does Filemaker 14 run on your OS? http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4701/~/filemaker-pro-o perating-system-requirements---all-versions > My first thought is delete Filemaker 14 and revert back to > Filemaker 11. It's generally a good idea to work with a stable version. Filemaker Inc released a bugfix update 14.0v2, and there's probably more to come. -- Christoph Kaufmann http://clk.ch

That will greatly help us determine what the problem is.

I have no idea how to post a screen shot as someone suggested. Also I have been informed the old Filemaker 11 was not erased when Filemaker 14 was installed, it was "moved" and became a hidden file. On a Mac, hold down the Shift and Command keys and press 3. That will save a screenshot to your desktop, by default it's a PDF, but you can open that in Preview and resave it as a JPEG. On Windows press the Print Screen key (may need to also use a function key on a small keyboard like a laptop). That copies the screen to the clipboard, which you can then paste into any application that accepts images - something like Paint is probably best since it can then be saved as a JPEG. You can't post a image here, so you need to then upload the JPEG to an image hosting service like TinyPic.com. That will give you a link which can then be posted here. > Also I have been informed the old Filemaker 11 was not erased when > Filemaker 14 was installed, it was "moved" and became a hidden file. If FileMaker 11 is still there, then double-clicking a database document *might* open it. On a Mac you could also try right-clicking (or hold down the Option key and click) on a database document, then choose Open With from the pop-up menu and see if FileMaker 11 is listed there. Helpful Harry :o)
