WINE is pretty hopeless at the best of times. It's trying to "emulate" Windows without actually using Windows software, so has lots of weird issues and software incompatibilities. If you really want / need to run Windows software under a different operating system, then it's best to use something that uses a proper installation of Windows. I don't know about Linux, but on a Mac that would be VMWare Fusion, Parallels Desktop, or the shareware VirtualBox, or using Boot Camp to have a dual-booting computer. Helpful Harry :o)
