Dear readers, Is HTTPS://WWW.Upwork.com/legal#terms any good? I am currently on PDF Page 12 of only one de its agreement's sections, because I sent an unanswered email to a lady on Date: Sat, 10 May 2025 01:15:06 +0200 (CEST) She wrote posts on LinkedIn afterwards today and yesterday. Dear readers, Upwork.com is disturbingly defective. It has informed me for the 1st time after I had registered an account that it blocks functionalities because it wants to send a text message for verification to a “phone”. No employer ever gives me a telephone which can receive a text message. Another fault of Upwork.com is that it misleadingly said in red writing that its Address-Line-1 field needs to be within a certain size range (when it already was) when actually it was malfunctioning because its Address-Line-2 field was correctly not empty. I overcame this bug by moving this Address-Line-2 field’s contents into this City field (thereby losing enough space for this full address). A defect of Upwork is that it does not let me use it to contact a freelancer who uses it. Upwork forbids SWIFT-IBAN wire transfers for payments! “Stay safe Only pay f re e lance rs through Upwork, e nsur ing Payme nt Prote ct ion.” said Upwork yesterday. Copying and pasting from Upwork does not work! I lost a lot of time on 11/05/2025 and 12/05/2025 because WWW.Upwork.com is a buggy website - as a bank confirmed on 12/05/2025 that I correctly entered Visa-debit-card details into this website. I emailed a complaint to legalnotices at Upwork.com on Date: Mon, 12 May 2025 02:07:04 +0200 (CEST) - “Dear Sir/Madam of Upwork [. . .] Upwork's buggy website said inter alia: "We are unable to authorize your card. Please add another billing method or contact your issuing bank." [. . .] I do not have time to waste and Upwork wasted a day, especially with a huge number of pages of terms and conditions. Upwork does not impress me. Upwork so-called "Support" refuses to solve this bug. Solve it immediately. I do not have time to waste!” Upwork Notification <donotreply@Upwork.com> emailed on Date: Sun, 11 May 2025 23:15:21 +0000 : “Visa was added”. Seventeen minutes after I invited a freelancer, Upwork wrongly showed: "Posted 17 minutes ago [. . .] [. . .] Invites sent: 0 Unanswered invites: 0". Upwork does not work with Google Chrome Version 49.0.2623.112 m.. Upwork does not work at all with Internet Explorer 9. It says: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage What you can try: Diagnose Connection Problems More information This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including: •Internet connectivity has been lost. •The website is temporarily unavailable. •The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable. •The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain. •There might be a typing error in the address. •If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section. It looks like you’ve posted a public job with a specific freelancer in mind."
