False dichotomy. What they could have done is extend the car park *then* close a section of the old site to fit chargers. In addition to "near the terminal building" being attractive to users, it would also reduce that amount of digging required to get power to those spaces. Although I don't suppose the building has sufficient existing spare capacity, so they are going to have to dig that from somewhere else (the main road perhaps, or potentially the nearest substation). -- Roland Perry
