The OP was to aus.pol. And yes, I did crosspost it as I thought the 
subject was also relevant to aus.general. Was I wrong???

Well, one could suggest that discussion about 'Senators' would be
OnTopic in aus.pol (which I don't connect to) but not necessarily so in
