You should be able to check the system log and see what changed
it if you haven't been stupid enough to run something like ccleaner

I do run CCleaner.
Win11 is very buggy, I have removed all of it's AI as rubbish
Often finding settings not only changed but also moved from where it
once was.
I watch a lot of movies TV Blue Tooth keep turn sound off in quiet
zone very annoying.
Fully the removing Skype I used for making international calls replace
with some broken crap no good for anyone.
This may be more to do with HP placing it's earphone socket causing
the blue screen of death requiring a USB key to log in again, it's
networking "security" just disallows networking, to my Server, My
Android no problem.

Chrome I'm looking at (have fast Internet NBN) down to a few programs
that need MS pretty sure they will be locked down also.

HAVE YOU BROKEN A PROMISE
*The right decision is to do the right thing with the right policies
at the right time
*Young people, and their parents and grandparents are worried they
will never own their own home
*They are frustrated with the intergeneration all equity.
*Any responsible government must take these issues seriously.
*We have focused on housing supply but it's become increasingly clear
that we need to use every lever we can to get Australians into homes -
to meet our 1.2 million new homes target.
*We have already announced extra funding for getting the last mile of
infrastructure - the roads, water, and power needed to get more
housing projects over the line. We are also making it easier to get
faster approvals for projects including housing.

The current versions don't wipe the system
log by default but you can certainly tell it to
do that. Trivial to check if the log is available.

Bullshit

How odd that that never happens with mine

I watched almost everything from free
to air TV on the win11 system, because
ABC iview doesnt work on the Win7

Some major Euopean Countries are dumping Windows 11 and switching to
Linux and seem the happier for it.
<https://grok.com/share/c2hhcmQtMw_a25dfe7f-4c61-41ea-a908-dc58ee0686f0>
Are They "Happier" For It?
Mixed but often positive where done right:
Success Stories: The French Gendarmerie migration was gradual
(starting with apps like Firefox/OpenOffice before full OS swap) and
reported lower support costs, better security, and high adoption.
Challenges: Munich's project faced compatibility issues with some
specialized software, leading to a later partial reversal. Training,
legacy apps, and ecosystem building are real hurdles.
Linux desktops have improved dramatically (better hardware support,
Wayland, Steam Proton for gaming if needed, excellent tools like
LibreOffice), but enterprise workflows tied to Microsoft (Teams,
specific Active Directory setups, proprietary line-of-business
software) can require workarounds.

Overall, these aren't knee-jerk decisions—many build on 10–20 years of
open-source use in servers and specific agencies. The momentum has
picked up significantly in 2025–2026.
If you're interested in specifics (e.g., which distros they're using,
technical challenges, or how this compares to private sector
adoption), let me know! Linux in government is a fascinating case of
open source proving itself at scale.

People do different things have different objectives with their
Computer
Mine was cheap international calls to overseas countries.
Reading and hearing news. watching movies, banking, buying selling
shares.
Now all problematic with Widows 11, Bluetooth earphones. so is a
bluetooth Mouse buggy, Skype was shot with a real crap replacement.
Use Charts a lot in Shares now not reliably working.
here's a reasonable youtube movie Channel,
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFTTjluTWUFW5nykBbdhe8g

Worldwide there is gaining momentum to replace windows with Linux
So while it may suit you doubt if Windows 11 suits a great many and
growing.
Linux is gaining momentum as a serious option for Windows users,
myself included.
Fixing and getting Windows bloatware downgrades, also don't like
widows involved with my security.

For $90 every 3 months that gives me 4Gigs a month, calls anywhere in
Australia?
with Skype maybe use every 3 months and not worry about time it was
cheap for calls to Japan NZ, Sweden.

All mobile outlets charge $30 a month international calls access fee,
then on top of charge heaps every minute on top of that.

There are outlets that one use similar to Skype for overseas calls.
Easier to dump windows they are getting worse, not better and more
expensive for busted crap.

Doesn't cost anything like that for unlimited
calls and texts to anywhere in this country
and all international countrys you would be
calling with skype

And then the mobile plans moved on and those countrys
were included in the unlimited calls and texts with plenty
of mobile plans

I would like to get out, now pretty old and need a working computer
system.
Have Australia NBN Fiber to the house, so very fast Internet.
Seems a Chrome Operating system would be more than adequate for me.
With a back-up USB should be no trouble to go back
Right now rigging my computer up to Ethernet from external Router,

I seem to be getting ALL of them.
System settings changing not by me.
Windows Bloatware downgrades to make computers run slowly
(make one buy a new computer AND Windows operating system)
Bluetooth Headphones just not work in windows keep cutting out when
sound is quite (claimed to save power, it's just annoying)
Plugging headphones into sound jack activated Window unknown Blue
Screen of death requiring one to have a decryption USB key to start.
Which didn't work, Had to format drive and reinstall everything.
This list just keeps growing longer! and growing.
Except for the only man in the world who claims "Doesn't happen to me"
Rod Speed?

No many including the local neighborhood computer repair man who
find's fixing these Windows "quirks" very lucrative.

I installed w11 on a late model PC, and haven't done anything to it, but
every time it boots i get a blue screen telling me I have to use
recovery options. but if I just turn it off and restart it boots ok.

he still uses w7 iirc
