My elderly mother spilt a cup of coffee over the NBN NTD. All the lights
were flashing 90 to the dozen, so I thought faark. I cleaned it up with
metho then called Telstra support desk, telling help dork that NTD is
defective. After 20 minutes of stupid questions, he says NBN tech will
come out. So next day contractor comes out, first thing he does is swap
out the NTD for a new unit, and it will not connect. The old one did
until it had a drink. Then he has a look outside and then declares that
the coax running along the carport roof is fucked and will have to be
redone. So it ended up being a 4-hour job. Or maybe Jims Cabling was
just trying to suck more money of NBNCo?

well obviously it didn't need new cabling since the connection was fine
before the box took a liking to coffee. so obviously the contractor is
just ripping off the NBN.
