Just someone with a better eye for the peculiarities of Belgian Dutch.
(than you have)

This is not at all exceptional: outsiders usually have a better eye
for peculiarities than native speakers.
This forum is of course a perfect illustration:
AmE and BrE speakers for example see each others peculiarities in usage
much better then the natives in these dialects can,

When going to where our caravan is stored, there are 6 speed limit 
changes in less than 3 miles.  This is all on the one road except for 
the last few yards.

Sounds like Botswana, which must run a close second. 

I once drove off the main road into a small town to look at something
or other, and rejoined the main road a litte further on, having missed
the speed limit sign, and got a ticket just over the next rise.

Well, fr.soc.politique is a cesspit (c'est le far west là-bas), and in 
the other French groups I know that aren't dead, it would be squarely HC 
(hors charte).

Why did I start it in aue?

Aue is nicely flexible. On y parle de tout et de rien, sans pour autant 
perdre de vue le sujet de fond. We exchange without limits here, while 
always returning to English usage.

I'm not sure that he is a troll in this sense:

People can be annoying, post too much, have no respect for netiquette, 
and so on, without being trolls. We have a couple of resident ones in 
aue. Others may start by being annoying, then learn the ropes and become 
less so. I suppose the essential criterion is: does the poster take 
notice of feedback or just… troll on in his own way? (This is a 
different sense of 'to troll', in BrE.)

It's a tricky thing. If such a person poses a sensible, legitimate 
question, does it deserve no response?
