check your newsreader Headings and you should see the word: Newsgroups

it contains the letter  s at the end of the word "Newsgroups", meaning

a plural. meaning to show more than one.

More than one newsgroup.

But posting with an attitude of "let's you and him fight" *is*
trolling, and if that is combined with an *abuse* of crossposting,
like posting to a bunch of disparate newsgroups, in most of which the
content is off-topic, such abuse of crossposting is a recognised
symptom of trolling.

I use a killfile plus another filter which removes all cross-posted 
messages.
That works for me, but I do accept that others might see more value in 
cross-posted messages.

I was merely dealing with the English usage questions: that there is a
clear distinction between crossposting and trolling, and the OP was
mistaken in assuming that that he/she/it was the only one aware of
that distinction.
