Several EU countries have regions with independence movements and as a result would have been strongly opposed to an independent Scotland automatically being a member even before Brexit - they don't want (for example) Catalonia to think it would work. -- Richard

Do you think there will be no "strange border" or a border with checks like in Dover between Scotland and Northern Ireland, when either one leaves the Disunited Kingdom? Can you tell us how it will work?

Presumably it would work the same way as Northern Ireland's
border with Eire.
I doubt the SNP will seek another Independence referendum.
