The functions of defence (and prosecution) are well established in law, where normal advocates argue their respective cases. Invoking the Devil for the sanctification of a person appears to be divisive, with malicious intent. (The technique was originally used by the Roman Catholic church, so understandable. The RC church is the source of most sinful activities, after all.)
