Is your town full of paranoid people? Knowing that someone is Reagan's former speech writer isn't nosy IMO. Nor is it nosy to know that a certain person in town was a teacher when they still worked. If people peered at that ex-teacher through slits in the curtains all the time or went through the teachers bin when placed out for collection, or asked repeated questions about where the teacher went, that is very nosy.
