Not from Crude Sausage, more likely to get patriarchal theology.
But here is a nice news item/

Ah, but they do have a choice. The choose freely to take that job, so
that is why they always will have to listen to my arguments. ;)

As for X-ray, no sir, I always take the manual way. Usually, well at
least in some airports, that has been quicker too!

I remember once in the US, I asked a security guard about it, and he
sigh and said "oh, you're one of those, come with me", and he let me
skip about 100 meter of queue, had a quick pat down, and was on my way!

Same here. When I wnet on a trip to Portugal with my in-laws in 2013, I
also insisted that they not agree to the x-ray machines. They are not
there to help detect anything; they are there to make sure that the
population gets a heavy dose of radiation. I notice that a lot of
institutions have already come out to claim that these full-body scans
are safe but they are not.

For me it is also about making sure there is always a choice. It is the
same with electronic money vs cash, or public services that are only
available through smart phones (with tracking) vs on pen and paper.

The government wants to remove cash and they want to make sure that you
need a tracking device on your person at all times. Nothing would make
them happier. The silent majority are unaware and seldom think beyond the
next TV-show.

So as always it's the enlightened few who have to fight for the freedom of
all the rest, while being hated for it, since they do not understand what
it is all about and only see us as "that guy" who causes trouble all the
time.

I mean, look at china with their social credit score, or the truck
protesters in canada, I think that should be enough of an example of how
evil the government is, and how important it is not to become dependent on
smart phones and virtual money.

I'll be the first to admit that I like the convenience of electronic
money. While being totally anonymous, I have a problem with cash in that
I always end up losing the pennies or forget that I even have bills on
my person to pay for anything. Clearly, this makes it easy for the
government and financial institutions to track me. At the same time,
this is how decide what my credit score will be and whether it is safe
to offer me a loan, so I can't complain too much.

That's how they lure you in, with ease and simplicity. But was anything
really worth while ever easy and convenient or did you in fact have to
work hard for it?

I had to work hard to be in a relationship and eventually a marriage, if
that doesn't sound too ridiculous to anyone. The odds were stacked
against me, but I managed to get myself out of my predicament. I turned
out better than I was supposed to by my estimation.

That's very inspiring and also similar to what my life taught me. That
the most valuable things, you have to work hard for. Or perhaps they are
the most valuable things you have, because you had to work hard for
them?

Regardless, happy to hear it!

Absolutely.

The whole 'Progressive Cant' thing is about confusing data with metadata
and moral opinions with facts.

Engineering is about data, and facts. It has no political or moral
content whatsoever.

And one which causes the heads of progressives to explode. Let's be
reminded of Obama's brilliant words: "If you've got a business, you
didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."

You see, even if you created a business out of your garage and invested
your profits into hiring more people and eventually renting out some
property to grow the enterprise, the government should be credited with
its success as should random black or Hispanic people who never went
anywhere near your business.

โ€œProgressivesโ€ ... didnโ€™t they call them โ€œRedsโ€ back in Senator McCarthyโ€™s

Red has become the official colour of the US Republican Party these days.

Whether you will admit it or not, McCarthy was right. There _were_
Communists around every corner and they were indeed seeking not only to
take over Hollywood, but every other influential establishment in the
United States. They've clearly taken over academia and managed to
overwhelm Hollywood despite his efforts.
