It might be one of the lowest level "API" of Xwindows or
other window manager.

Can anybody tell me which Libraries to rely on and some
synthax to invoke those methods in user code ?

I suspect Xwindows code source is simply TOO HUGE for me to
sieve it and just get out this couple of lowest level
functions (and eventual dependencies).

Maybe I do not even understand the possible risks, as in
this topic I still think in term of aged windows versions
(there I had to ask for SCREEN handle, then declare the API,
invoke API, and resident apis, no need to load anything
else, and understand the data type in/out and the _CDECL
declspec for ordering of parameters and stack cleanup C-like)

now Linux is native in C, so I won't have problems in
understanding the exchange requirements .... but I
completely ignore for example if I would have the RIGHTS
(privilege) to invoke function from loaded external
libraries and services ... particularly when writing the
screen is concerned I'd could possibly mess up other
windows, even if temporarily).

Some reading for suggestion ?

NOTICE : I do not need a complete program to pickup colors
and draw, as it would be amazingly slow. I need to directly
call lowest level functions just in use of the graphical
system running (which I suppose to be very fast)

TY

Attention....this Mario poster is a bot, plain and simple......It used to
inhabit the alt.os.linux.mint group and post the same insane questions
there. It was finally exposed as a bot and left in a huff, now it has re-
appeared in alt.os.linux group.

There a some very good hearted and well meaning and very knowledgeable
linux users in this newsgroup. Please ignore this Soviet Mario bot and
it's ridiculous questions, it will only tie you up in knots.....just
ignore it and it will go away....maybe to a Windows newsgroup.....I can
only hope.

That does not compute. Bots (still) do not have feelings, and as such do
not leave "in a huff".

> Please ignore this Soviet Mario bot and it's ridiculous questions

Pray tell, what is "ridiculous" about wanting to do some low-level (fast)
pixel manipulation ?

What is the chance that you are (maliciously) trolling ?

Even though I've made rather clear that that "bot" description of yours
cannot be correct you keep using it. Why ?

Also, I've not seen you answer my explicit question, nor have you even
/tried/ to describe how other threads he started here are "ridiculous".
Why ?

And if you can't find them in this newsgroup than you would certainly be
able to point to some posts in that newsgroup you referred to, right ? But
you did not do that either. Why ?

If-and-when you want to blackball someone you need to do better than to come
up with some "it will happen some day" FUD I'm afraid. Responding to
simple statements and questions would be good idea too. Currently you only
have gained some extra troll points I'm afraid.

Rudy Wieser

Rudy,
Look thru the alt.os.linux.mint newsgroup for say the last year. Read
some of it's posts concerning linux partitions, multiple installs of
different linux distros on same hd and wanting to use the same /home for
different distros. Check out it's post concerning the home remodeling it
says it did on a home in Italy, in the mint newsgroup.

I should be more clear, Mario (the bot) creators left the newsgroup in a
huff and took their bot (Mario) with them. They have now relaunched it in
this newsgroup.....

Al,

I did. I see you had next to zero communication with the OP in the last
two years, with the OP having quite a number of conversations with other
people in that time.

But I see something I do not like: Me (rather explicitily) asking for
references to the material that offends you, and you again requiring I find
it myself. Thats a red flag to me.

> Read some of it's posts concerning linux partitions, multiple installs of

Yes, I read that one here. Although I can imagine that some stuff would
clash I do not see or classify that as a "bot" (whatever you mean by that,
you still haven't explained) type of question.

And for the record: If it isn't possibile than I would imagine you (or
someone else) would be able to (reasily?) point out /why/ that would not
work. Have you ?

Also: You might not see any benefits in it (and possibly even see how easily
it c|would collapse), but that does not mean that the OP should not try his
best to try it anyway - and learn from it.

And a problem: I cannot seem to find that "in a huff" post/thread you are
referring to. Not even an argument that looks like it could have caused it.
Care to specify (post a reference) ?

> I should be more clear, Mario (the bot) creators left the newsgroup
> in a huff and took their bot (Mario) with them. They have now
> relaunched it in this newsgroup.....

And the reason why you think that Mario is a bot is ...?

Suggestion: Do not try to use your "ridiculous" classification to create a
circular argument.

Bottom line, you have (again) not provided anything specific. Which does
not give me any confidence in regard to your statements towards the OP.
Quite the opposite actually.

Regards,
Rudy Wieser

If you are to lazy to lookup references yourself, don't expect other
people to do the work for you. You are now beginning to sound like a
Bernie supporter aka "Snowflake"

"Plonk"

No. The people claiming something out of the ordinary are those that
have to prove it.

And <plonk> you too. If you have to draw in US-centric politics into a
debate that has nothing to do with either the US or politics just so
as to insult someone you don't even know, then you're a bigot, and there
are so many bigots already that you certainly won't be missed in my news
feed.

You stupid bipartisan nutcases think that the USA lies at the center of
the universe. Well, it doesn't — not even close, and if you were to
pull your heads out of your bigoted asses, you'd see that.

Here's another one for ya: You're obviously pro-capitalism, right?
Well, do you use an ad blocker in your browser? If your answer is
"yes", then you're not just a bigot, but also a hypocrite.

And now into the loony bin with you.

Hey back on thread... I was in my MAME emulator looking to play
an old legacy game as I do from time to time... I recently DLd
updates to the PCB and cabinet pics, etc, history and what nots...

Thing is, this emulator can load those game ROMs and play the
game, but the real purpose of the MAME development was to analyze
the CPUs being used...

So as I browse, I notice that some smart dude put in pics and such
of some very old computers, so I sort by date, and sure enough, just
about everything we made over here and everything y'all made over
there is in there. Not all of it, mind you, but a whole lot of
hardware pics and such to browse through, so this 'APP' is worth
DLing and the picture libraries and NO ROMs of hundreds of GB.

You could name some old obscure piece of gear you worked with back
in the seventies or eighties, and there is a good chance it is in
there and a pic or two.

I guess one could do the same on google, but being able to scroll
through several different makers of gear is not something google
does well.

So I look up a DEC VT100, and I see a screen that shows the array
and talks about it, and shows "double height font" (interesting).

  The Xerox piece is there...

Computing equipment from as far back as 1948 is in there.

  Handheld calculators, electronic battleship.

Sorted by CPU is cool too.

Oh and that is all via the MAME app that allows one to browse the
available packages.

Mine actually has game ROMs and I have something like 155GB of the
artwork and ROMs, etc.

A lot more cool than when all it did was play old games.

Name a CPU or machine you remember and I'll see if it calls up.

Probably help if I named it

:-) You lost.

Claiming stuff about other people but refusing to underbuild it, instead
demanding that we should just find /your/ reasons (we obviously need to
exfiltrate the base for by reading your mind) ourselves - in a rather big
trove of messages.

You're just /screaming/ "I haven't got anything to go on" to me there.

> You are now beginning to sound like a Bernie
> supporter aka "Snowflake"

Ah yes. The old "If they do not agree with you than villify them" tactics.

Kiddo, I gave you ample opportunity to underbuild your claims, but you have
refused to do so. You *are* a malicious troll, nothing more (for reasons
still unknown).

And for your "plonk"ing ? Thats just you running away (admitting defeat)
from someone who called you out.

But, I'm going to return the favour. Guess why.

Regards,
Rudy Wieser

P.s.
Notice the responses from others you got ? You seem to have forgotten
that our conversation is not at all private (if it would have been private I
probably would just have "plonked" you on your first post - it was /because/
it was public that I engaged with you).

I'm afraid your attempt to smear someone here has led in you tainting your
own name. Funny how that works. :-)

anyway ... Rudy, make yourself the gift to judge other
peoples independently, from what they have written. Here no
secret dossiers or covert activity. I never morphed and will
never trash a nickname just for "some" people develop an
allergic reaction to the "Soviet" qualifier. If they do,
it's their problem. I submit a lot of questions, that's sure
(but often IT), nevertheless noone is forced to answer.

Myself I find that many tend to think a thing is easy when
themselves find it easy, while I'm still limited by having
used windows for some 1990-2017 and linux 2017-2019.
Not that I had never been a power user for windows too ! I
just learned to deepen some limited aspects that I needed,
but I was just an user even there, and for every tweeking I
relied on dedicated pieces of SW.
anyway, I cut the long story short :)

Indeed. Thats why I asked Al to post references.

You see, I do not mind at all being warned about someones bad behaviour so I
do not fall into the same pit. But I /do/ have the need to verify it for
myself. Something Al there obviously did not recon with.

Was that this is all about ? Al disliking that part of your nym ?
Goodness.

I (ofcourse) noticed your nym, and was curious for a few seconds about what
would have been the basis of it (game related I assumed). But as it did
not matter one way or the other to me (in relation to the thread or
otherwise) I forgot all about it.

Most often it is just a non-novice not being able to remember their own
novice days. Although most realize/acknowledge it when its pointed out to
them, some think its their good right to expect someone who has questions to
just know/understand whatever they are saying. The whole explaining part is
a bit (far?) beyond them. And then there are people who just regurgitate,
with no inclination to know the why of their "facts".

Yep, been there, done that and got thoroughly disgusted. :-(

Its the same I, and probably most people here do. If its already available
and you like it, use it. Otherwise, try to write it yourself.

In my case I sometimes succumb to the wish to be able to write an already
existing program myself. You know, just to see if I can. :-)

with some trollshit, yes

but there are also many other that find annoying my (alleged
!) lazyness and stubborness, but imvho this is a question of
perceptions, of subjective needs, time, way of life and
work, and many other differences that conduct to
misunderstanding

in fact i never spoke of politics per sé (even if when it
comes to other side effects of it, like privacy and other
topics, i feel in the right place here on linux while i had
to flee from windows world). But I gave minimal contribution
to such discussions i deem

the first source of divergence here (i think) is an implicit
assumption that a good linux user should consider a degree
in linux OS as the top priority of his life :)

in the ninety and till 2005 maybe I was so, then the hurry
increased. In fact I tried some EXISTING programs before
(StegoSuite) with PARTIAL satisfaction. Hence the decision
to put the hands at it.
I'm trying very hard to break Visual Studio addiction ...
but it's really difficult.

Ciao !
