Agreed that the US constitution waqs written by and for the landowners.
Agreed that there will never be a perfect constitution. However, the Bill of
Rights (1st 10 amendments) were ratified shortly thereafter and the
amendments protect the people.

I agreethat is the ultimate goal, however, until civility and mutual
"respect" return to American politics, it will never happen.

Thanks for the conversation, but I'm afraid we are drifting off-subject.
Have a good day,

According to the left, the Bill of Rights is oppressive, racist,
and discriminates.

It began with the Clintons and went into high gear with the
Obamas.

Bullshit. I'm a liberal democrat, and I sure as hell don't feel that
way. It seems to me that it's the right-wing Republicans who are
determined to undermine the Bill of Rights.

Oh no, not even close. It began with the Gingrich Republicans in the
mid 1990s, and the GOP has gone downhill ever since.

You must be the single exception to the rule.

How do you feel about Trump's border wall?

Nope. It began with the snotty lying Democrats of the mid-90's
and Gingrich gave it right back to those losers in spades. That
really pissed them off and they've been seething ever since.

You libs didn't like that so you turned it into a cultural war.

In that aspect you're losing and you're eventually going to be
wiped off the face of the Earth like any other useless unwanted
microbe.

 From afar, it looks like

(a) The turkeys voted Democrat

(b) You havent appreciated the humour and cunning of the Trump.

He is pulling your todgers and showing you all about faux news and how
the trick is done.

By the time Donald is through no one will believe anything a politician
says, or they read in the papers, or see/hear in the media. This is in
fact the correct position to be in for a mature experienced American.

In the end The Trump is doing you a huge favour. He is not telling you
what to think, he is indirectly teaching you how to think, and why you
should think, for yourself.

Political and social indoctrination is all very well and produces a
stable Left voting population that can be manipulated and controlled for
the edification of the elites, but it comes at a high price: By
conditioning the populations to act as though the walled kindergerten
you have built for them is reality, they are - and you are in the end -
utterly unable to meet the challenges of history that may arise.

Centralised World Government is a wonderful idea, but who will you trust
to run it?

And even if they mean well, can they second guess the laws of Nature?

Last night I met the chief aeeodynamicist of Renault Formula one car
racing team. We discussed the minor differences - less than 1% - that
separates the winning car from 'tail end charlie' . 'It's all in the
aero', he said.

'Do you use a lot of computer modelling to arrive at the design?" "No.
It doesnt work, the Navier Stokes equations even for something as small
as a car require so much computational power that we have to make
approximations, and these are not justified under turbulent flow, so in
fact we do nearly all our work in the wind tunnel'

'Arent't those equations the same ones that lie behind the models they
do for Climate Change' I asked.'The ones they are basing global energy
policy on?'

'I dunno. I hope not'.

......

Beware of Geeks, bearing gifts.

Yeah, he has no memory of the 1950s and 60s, when the Western economies
expanded like crazy. That's why it's the "lowest unemployment rate since
1969". The rates before that were generally lower. Even in the recession
of '57 (which caused me an extra couple of weeks of summer-job search)
it was still only 4.20% (http://www.multpl.com/unemployment/table). NB
that it rose in the late 50s to mid-60s, which was a time of rapidly
expanding workforce as the baby boomers reached school-leaving age,
which was 14 back then. [1] Business couldn't absorb these new workers
fast enough.

Reminder: the unemployment rate is based on the number of people looking
for work, not the whole working-age population.

As the rate of Boomer retirement increases you'll see two countervailing
effects: a) the shrinking work force will raise unemployment rates, and
b) the increasing demand for workers will lower unemployment rates.

In addition, the effects of shifting consumption and trade patterns
cause differences in local unemployment rates. This is the reason the
coal miners voted for Trump, not at all surprisingly. It's hard to
believe that things are going well overall when you lose a well-paying
job through no fault of your own.

Neither the unemployment rate nor the participation rate can tell you
which of these effects is greater at any given time. It's merely an
average number, which hides a lot of details. It answers the hunger for
a nice, simple fact that explains everything. Like the GDP or the stock
marker index, it doesn't explain anything. It's a number that needs
explaining, which begins with unpicking it to reveal the underlying
data. The only places you'll find that kind of analysis is the boring
academic journals where economics professors publish their research.

[1] During my teaching career, the school-leaving age was raised from 14
to 16 to 18. Partly because extended schooling was needed even for
"entry-level" work as the complexity of work increased; and partly to
keep the teenagers out of a job market that couldn't use them as more
and more lower skilled jobs were replaced by machines and customer "self
service". I'll leave it to you to speculate about which motive ruled.

Best,

The scam is disability. Unemployment won't pay for the drugs
and alcohol.

A slut with a kid can sit home on disability, draw an allowance
for the kid until age 18 - and get the guy fucking her worthless

month.
