Nothing to do with systemd as systemd will try to start the service, this is how port listening works in Linux, one instance at the time can listen to a port, when nginx (in this case) can't open port 80/443 then it will exit. The reason to avoid systemd is that it's a big security vulnerability risk and it eats up GNU applications. -- //Aho
