I have been dabbling with Kmail and know of several people that use it 
extensively but for me it's still not quite as flexible as Thunderbird.

It wasn't clear to me either and I am looking for it since I'm aware of
the language barrier. Probably not a good idea to start calling people
idiots if you intend genuine discussion of a point of view. Perhaps it
would be better to make an effort to be more clear.

I'd opine that hundreds of millions of people simply use web mail
clients, such as GMail, Outlook.com or Yahoo mail. 

If we're talking about the most used email client on Linux, I'd guess
Thunderbird is the most used. I don't know. I myself used it for years
and like most of it. I've been using Evolution lately, but I'd opine
that Thunderbird is the better app. 

I'd like to see it further developed but as someone who used it for a
solid number of years with plugins like Lightning, I found it
surprisingly good.

Indeed, Thunderbird 'Just Works'.

Of course we can always have wishes for some special option but all in 
all it's a simple to use and very reliable mail and news client.
I started on Windows with Outlook Express and for me it worked.
When I transferred to a stable platform I used the mail client of 
Netscape and eventually Thunderbird came into the game, especially 
because it's cross platform.
I have used and still have shell server access to the various CLI mail 
programs but all my mail from 1997 onward is now in Thunderbird's 
database and I'm happy.

I have similar problems with gamo's version of humour and was at various 
points ready to add him to the bozo bin but each time gamo came back 
with a plausible explanation.

gamo, your English is good, very good, but please be careful with using 
otherwise funny or sarcastic expressions :)

listed issues mean. And how little they matter unless you get all sorts
of trashmail from 'associates' to pr0n sites..You just like looking at
the pretty color codes.

Absolutely. It's explicitly obvious you don't understand the mechanism
of HOW that exploit might come to pass. It doesn't happen in a "user
vacuum"...

Computer USERS are the most dangerous vulnerability for computer
security. That said, I'd advise you to remove yourself from your
computer until that security vuln is patched.
