Your question boiled down to how to transfer multi[ple files from Andoid
to Linux without USB.
You had stated that Bluetooth wouldn't work so why would anyone give you
an answer using bluetooth.
Everyone here is trying to give you a better solution.
You keep moving the goalposts through your ineptitude.

Correct.

> You had stated that Bluetooth wouldn't work so why would anyone give you
> an answer using bluetooth.

You must have an agenda if you think you heard that. Check the facts.

I don't think I ever said Bluetooth "wouldn't" work; and, in fact, it
*did* work. I just didn't know how it worked. And now that I do, I posted
the step-by-step (tricky) solution so that everyone knows how it works.

> Everyone here is trying to give you a better solution.

You must have an agenda because I must have said a dozen times already
that I've dropped the Bluetooth solution in favor of the suggested WiFi
transfer using Turbo Client.

The WiFI *is* a better (i.e., faster) solution that bluetooth.

I even posted a step-by-step tutorial that anyone can follow that doesn't
miss a beat on *how* to transfer the files using the much faster WiFi.

So, for you to say otherwise, just means you must have an agenda.

> You keep moving the goalposts through your ineptitude.

Again, you must have an agenda.

I never once moved the goalposts and you actually know this to be a fact.

I simply responded to all viable suggestions, and tested the most viable,
and after having understandable initial problems (because the GUI is an
expert-only GUI that nobody can deny), I got the suggested solution to
work, and even posted a step-by-step tutorial that others can follow.

So, for you to say *anything* you've said here, only means that *you*,
yourself, must have an agenda that I don't have.

I'm done with this problem. It's solved. Thank you for all your advice,
because the solution I'm using is the one that was suggested and not the
approach I originally tried to use (which eventually worked also).

I will now only respond to legitimate concerns, as a courteous and
responsible Usenet poster should.

Good. Then can a knowledgeable linux person tell me how to select

I have succeeded in both attempts.

1. Bluetooth on Android now selects entire folders, and,
2. WiFi on Android now transfers files quickly to Linux.

Thank you for all your help and advice, all of which I read, responded
to, and followed the viable suggestions to completion until one worked.

I read *all* posts that show up in "my" threads, and I didn't *see* the
post that Marek was responding to, so I *assumed* that this person was in
my killfile.

To be clear, I didn't *look* into my killfile scoring algorithm to see, I
just *assumed* he was in the killfile.

Other than that, I have no knowledge of this person.

>> "Destroy other's threads" looks like the accusation. Can someone show

Marek, you must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed today. You
write great scripts, and you give them for free to the public on github,
so, you're doing all of us a great service, and I appreciate that.

Why would I want to piss you, or anyone else off?

I just simply asked how to get the Android bluetooth facility to select
multiple pictures in one fell swoop (instead of in numerous checkboxes),
and then you told me the solution to *that* specific problem is to buy
payware to run SFTP (among other solutions).

I shouldn't really need to point out to you that this suggested solution
isn't even close to that of the answering the question; however, in your
defense, it might solve the overall file-transfer problem.

Remember, I never had a problem transferring files from Android to Linux.
The problem was only in the GUI of *selecting* the files to transfer!

Bear that in mind when you call me a troll for trying out the suggested
"Turbo Client" freeware, and then, finding that freeware obtuse to use
(compared to the trivially easy-to-use Bluetooth file xfer that works
just fine except for the selection problem).

So, basically, while I *appreciate* all the ideas, none are answering the
original question (and for that, "I", somehow, get called a troll!), and,
of the ones that address overall file transfer, the ones tested to date
are far worse a GUI than the Bluetooth app ever was.

If the GUI suggested isn't dead simple, then it's *not* a viable
replacement for the Bluetooth file transfer that is already working, but,
which requires multiple selection steps.

I use ESFile Manager (Explorer?) to transfer files to the samba
subdirectory on my linux computer (one button for 'select all') using
either FTP or <something else> via wifi. Some photos come through
garbled, though, so it's more reliable if I just use a USB cable.

I haven't tried transferring anything to my windows machine. Maybe I
should...

Actually, looking it up, we're all right.
It's the ES File Explorer Manager

:)
