Since about a year I might have 50-70 tabs opened, I also use a nesting plug in (Tree style tab) that keeps them nicely organised and I've yet to see a problem or instability. Chrome is a Google tool so I'm also using Chromium but with so many tabs that thing eats too much RAM. But then there is Lynx :)

It's still right there behaving normally while I watch a movie on youtube. No additional resources are being consumed. It is interesting to see that Exxon is still Esso in other parts of the world.
