That's interesting, so thanks Caver1 for that idea.
The board on the net seems to only be about 40 to 60 bucks, which, when
you compare to the danger of soldering, seems to be a safer bet overall.

PS: Why is there a space in your "newsgroup" line when I reply?

It's amazing what people never think of.

OK. I admit. I don't understand why or how you get a space in your
followup line when I reply to you.

Normally I just reply, and don't even *look* at the followups (which the
rickety troll takes advanage of by adding the comp.os.linux.advocacy
group to).

But, you didn't answer the question.

Why do followups *only* in respond to your posts not work without manual
editing?

What is your logical thought process in that?

I have no idea. Something on your end?
Not even sure I know what you are talking about.
Again crossposted.
Just delete the group that you aren't in on your replies.

It "may" be on my end, but, it only happens with *your* posts, and I hit
the same "f" key to reply to all posts.

If, for example, Dan posts to "alt.os.linux.ubuntu,comp.mobile.android",
and if I hit the "f" key to reply, my reply automagically goes to exactly
that, namely "alt.os.linux.ubuntu,comp.mobile.android".

I don't *change* anything, and, more to the point, I don't even *look* at
what the header says, just like I don't look at the Subject line, nor,
often, who is even saying whatever is being said (although when it gets
personal, I take note).

> Not even sure I know what you are talking about.

It's simple.
1. Dan sends a message to "alt.os.linux.ubuntu,comp.mobile.android".
2. I hit the "f" key to reply.
3. My message goes to "alt.os.linux.ubuntu,comp.mobile.android".
---
A. You send a message to "alt.os.linux.ubuntu,comp.mobile.android"
B. I hit the "f" key to reply.
C. My message goes to "alt.os.linux.ubuntu, comp.mobile.android".
D. My newsreader complains that there is a space after the comma.
E. No big deal, I remove the space.

I was just asking why only your posts have the space, while nobody elses
has the space.

> Again crossposted.

You can't be that thick not to see in provable black and white that I
don't *change* the newsgroups when I reply. I just hit "f" and it replies
to whomemver *YOU* sent the missive to.

So, to put it in even blacker and whiter for you, since you've brought up
this idiotic rant a bunch of times - and you can't possibly be *that*
thick that you either don't understand the sentence below, or you have an
agenda:
1. You post to x,y,z newsgroups.
2. When I hit "f", it replies to those exact same newsgroups.
3. If you post to just x, then,
4. When I hit "f", it replies to just that x newsgroups.

The crossposting is on *your* side (if it's happening in a reply to you).
Not on my side as I don't even look at the ng line, nor do I change it.

> Just delete the group that you aren't in on your replies.
Why on earth would I do that?
I'm in both groups.
And the topic applies to both groups.

Marek doesn't like that fact, but his dislike is apparently (according to
one explanation that was provided) because he's prejudiced against
*anyone* on one of those groups. So, once he mentioned that, I simply
didn't *touch* the header after that. Nothing was touched.

If Marek had replied to alt.basketweaving, then that's what would have
been in my header. So, it's not me crossposting so much as me replying to
someone who crossposted.

If you can't plainly see that with your own eyes, you either need better
glasses or less of an agenda because it's an easily verifiable fact.

Then pay attention to where you are posting and remove the
comp.mobile.android
from your replies. Simple.
As you may notice either the ones in the android group never replied to
you or they took
alt.os.linux.ubuntu out of their replies so we didn't see them.
In Usenet you really do need to pay attention to every little detail.
For your own good.

You have the responsibility to not crosspost in your replies. I'm
responsible for mine.
What's so hard to understand? And you think we're thick.

But we're not in both groups. Did anyone from android even reply to you?
Don't crosspost. Seperate message for each group. That's Usenet etiquette.
Always has been always will be.

Still your responsibility to not crosspost in your replies.
Google or whatever it, Usenet etiquette.

The entire damned phone is cheap on ebay. I got a screen and LCD for
under $30.

Plug them bad boys in cold and carefully, then energize. That is how
I do micro-USB, regardless of what it is a part of.

  There is no "dozen".

And as I stated USB IS 4 conductors. IF Samsung or anyone else adds
more, they are superfluous, and if you look at the schematic images
google provides, you will see "sense" lines and the like, tied to ground
and such. Micro-USB is five pins with just such a ground tied "sense"
"pin" added. Still, no dozen. And Still conforming to the ONLY 4 pins
which appear on the standard USB plug on the other end of the cable.

So I guess 7 pins simply "magically disappear" into the twilight zone.

I replaced both the LCD and the touch screen on an S3 that was given
to me, and I only had 2000 parts left over when I was done. Can you
guess which ones they were?

And yes, I am a micro-electronic assembly expert (per se), up to and

Amazes me how desperate these trolls are. Linux quite literally has them
shaking in their boots. Why else devote so much time and energy into
something that by their own account doesn't matter?

If it truly doesn't matter, they'd not be devoting any time to it at
all. It obviously matters a great deal to them.

Yep, and it's been quite obvious for quite awhile that they are
only flogging a dying horse in Microsoft's OS offerings.

I guess they think that /we/ can't think or see. Heh, a death rattle is
