If you use slackpkg, and on Current at least, you'll see entries in a
file like this:
/usr/libexec/slackpkg❱✔≻ grep needs *
core-functions.sh:# The /var/run/needs_restarting file contains the list of upgraded
core-functions.sh:function needs_restarting() {
core-functions.sh: awk -F/ '{ print $NF }' >> $ROOT/var/run/needs_restarting
core-functions.sh: needs_restarting
What I do is watch for the internet-facing services and just restart
those if I see them mentioned in the ChangeLog. Everything else will
update on the next reload. Obviously glibc and kernels are a different
case.
