Used?  Yes.  Worked with?  No.

My dad saves his tax files on a UDF formatted CD-ROM.  It works just
like a large read/write floppy or hard disk partition when it's working
correctly.  Unfortunately, he forgets to "eject device" via software
before he pushes the CD eject button.  So, Windows sometimes fails to
update the file allocations before ejecting the disk.  The next time he
accesses the CD he can't write to it because Windows thinks it's
blank or full, but the files are still present and accessible.  I.e.,
copy off all files, reformat, copy files back.
