from what I've seen of the 4 shows in LA, 2 in Mexico and 2 in Fort Worth Texas they've been mostly pretty good with some minor issues here or there (Geddy's bass guitar not working for 2112 and the travel from Mexico snafu). my main concern was not the new drummer, she's doing a great job considering... no, not that, but how Geddy's voice would hold up. he sounds a lot better and for that i am glad for whatever work he did with the voice coach and practice. however, the laryngitis and bronchitis has put him out of action for a few weeks. i hope he recovers fully and can go back to doing what he loves to do. Alex is having fun and playing ok, but here or there he's going off solos into some weeds before coming back. not that he sounds bad. :) Anika is holding down the drumming a lot better than some expected but i wasn't worried about that and have enjoyed how she's added some sparks back to Geddy's playing as he tries to keep up. here or there she's missed or added a beat and that has thrown off Geddy and Alex a little but they recover and keep going. live shows are like that at times where anything can happen... some nights they all seem really well locked in and playing great. so far only 8 concerts into the tour and i hope they have a lot of fun playing and that all the fans who want to see them have a chance to do it. you going to go? have you been? whatcha think? i won't be able to go and am envious of those who can get out to see them play. love to them, the road crew and support people! songbird
