As lark, my best buddies and I printed up a letter head for a chemical research institution. A year or two later, I used that to order, from a science supply house in one of the Carolinas, everything that local pharmacies and surgical supply house had refused to sell me. Order came in a wooden crate. By that time we lived in a house that was cozy enough but sufficiently eccentric in architecture and crappy in construction that I was allowed to do anything I liked in my "room" that had, at one time, been some kind of store/shop appended to the living quarters. So I had a proper lab -- umm, at least as proper as my limited teen-age budget allowed. Today, that crate from Carolina would probably be delivered by a congeries of BATF & FBI guys, possibly with Dept. of Environment techs in hazard suits on point. -- Mike Spencer Nova Scotia, Canada
