You can do anything with NOR gates including suffering a psychotic episode. There were also cards with inverters so you could get to OR or AND eventually.

I got detailed training on PLCs, but I didn't get the chance to actually work with them. -- Cheers, Carlos.

It was a learning experience for everyone involved. 120 VAC relay logic was virtually bullet proof. Industrial plants tend to have large 3-phase induction motors, forklift chargers, prehistoric 550 vAC elevators and other good stuff so electrically speaking it's a very dirty environment and a lot of smoke was let out of the early solid state devices. The lessons learned were incorporated in PLCs and most of them used the ladder logic metaphor that was familiar to plant electricians. I thought that would be sort of a transitional crutch but I was surprised when I interviewed a candidate a few years ago who had mentioned PLC experience on his resume to find that ladder diagrams were still the typical interface.

I don't know if mine have died. The batteries certainly. I wrote a sort of moon rocket or flight simulator on both, using all the capacity. I have lost track of the code, though. -- Cheers, Carlos.

I'm waiting with bated breath. I've gotten a few notifications from Google telling me how Gemini is going to make my life so much better. The sooner I can have a working phone that is not tied to Google or Apple the better.

I'm not sure that thing will catch. There is an ecosystem of apps people want to run on their phones and not on the computers. I do want the type of tools that I have in my current Android phone. I would like the same thing with more privacy even if I have to pay for it, if price is fair and good. I do not want a Linux (nor Windows). Apps that *designed* to work with a finger. Maps, banking apps, firefox, mail, weather, whatsapp, etc. Apps that are aware of my location, like the app I use to pay for parking on the correct street on several cities here. -- Cheers, Carlos.

And you already have your choice of web browsers on Android.

That is part of what killed the Windows phone. I don't have banking apps but I do have several I use daily. One is a Fitbit fitness app. Since Google bought Fitbit I doubt if they would create a Linux version. Even the state's conservation permit is an app. I don't use the phone for X, reddit, browsing, and so forth but what I do use probably wouldn't be ported to Linux. As far as a phone, other than talking to my ex every couple of months I very rarely use it as a phone. Half the time if it rings I can't figure out how to answer without dropping the call.

I have always wished for my computer to be as easy to use
as my telephone. My wish has become true because I can
no longer figure out how to use my telephone.
