That's probably true but I don't see that as being germane here. Stephen said the three guys claimed the President *was not allowed* to appoint someone ... They are not only allowed, they are *expected* to appoint someone. What happens next in this case is kind of up for grabs. Rubio and Cruz are both attorneys so I figured they had read the Constitution, I guessed Kasich was an attorney too, when I raised my objection but it turns out he is a PolySci guy, but he's probably read it too. Stephen has served his penance, coming up with those three links took some time and effort.

I wouldn't count on it, but it doesn't matter since they all say the Christian Bible (which they apparently haven't read either) is the true law of the land, not the Constitution. That alone should disqualify them from _any_ public office. Different religious groups have their own translations and interpretations. The other kicker is that some Democrats have been very religious, only they generally did not wear it on their sleeve as Republicans like to do. Reagan wasn't particularly religious, but the 'religious right' made him their hero. Ironically, Walter Mondale and Jimmy Carter were quite religious, but they didn't like him.
