Notably, though, some (mostly white) cities _did_ get state funding to replace their lead pipes, even though they weren't a problem, while (mostly black) Flint didn't. The state switched Flint's water supply to save a few bucks, but the new source was much more corrosive, and the lead pipes remaining there became an urgent problem. However, that much could be blamed on stupidity; what shows that it was actually malice is that once the state was made aware of the problem, they blew it off as only affecting "niggers" and spent more public time/money fighting demands to fix the problem than it would have cost to actually fix it! Worse, they are still fighting the specific plans to replace Flint's pipes, saying the technique is unproven, even though the same technique has been used in other cities for years--including MI's own capitol. And the pipes weren't really a problem with the water Flint bought from Detroit. The City Manager of Flint (who switched the source of water to a more acidic source, to save a few hundred bucks) was imposed upon Flint by the Governor of Michigan. The Attorney General of Michigan is a crony of the governor. Good luck with that.

I am pretty well satisified with Obama's mid-east policy, it is about the best an American can expect. And he has already solved the health care insurance problem. What is left? The milliseconds left should be devoted to what is topmost on his list of problems. I don't have access to his list, all I am saying is that the Flint water problem should not even be *on* the list.

Ever since the beginning of the country--the US govt stepped in where states were unwilling or unable to act. The first example was the original Articles of Confederation, which proved inadequate to run the country, so they were replaced with the Constitution and a federal form of government. Later on, there were things like currency, originally issued by state banks, then by the central uniform Federal Reserve. Then there was the New Deal. In more recent years, there was the EPA, which had more power and resources than state agencies did. For example, a state agency noticed, as mentioned, a steel mill was polluting a key drinking supply. The agency told the mill to clean up, but the mill ignored it. Later, the EPA stepped in.

not' do. However there is only a short list of things he 'could' do and
succeed.
The Flint water people appear to have ignored the clean water standard.

The Clintons both are grifters. You have to draw a line in the sand somewhere. Also, an absentee ballot only has to be postmarked, not received, by election day, so there's not necessarily any difference in information, and in fact an absentee voter may have _more_ information than one who voted early in person.
