Back when my county used paper (optical scan) ballots, and the previous one that used punchcards, there were bar codes along every edge that presumably encoded the precinct, orientation, page number, etc. It wouldn't have been difficult to add one for voter identity, except that at the polls, they put multiple ballots on the table and the voter can freely choose--and see if there are differences. When you mail the ballots to the voters, they don't get a choice, and they can't compare to other ballots. W/o the enormous federal debt, couldn't run the treasury interest/ZIRP scam. The Bush era is a perfect example of the "fiscal conservatives" showing their true colors. Yet the mini-minds supporting Trump and the rest of their cohort still believe. The RW sure knows how to turn a phrase. They're fond of calling the deficit a "spending problem". According to them, it's impossible to reduce the deficit by raising taxes because "it's a spending problem". Sadly, they've gathered a bunch of voters stupid enough to believe this stuff. Some of them, (like Mitt) act surprised at the outcome. And now, after the 8 disastrous Bush years, they're hot to damage the country again. The other day, Trump asked for a "loyalty oath". Apparently, not one person in the room had the principles it takes to speak up and say "no loyalty oaths to leaders in America". -- Dan Espen

He is just leaving an enormous mess for his successor, and the rating agencies know it.

Christie is forbidden by his "conservative principles" to even consider solving the problem by raising taxes. Therefore, the best he can do to solve the problem is hand waving. Your hidden claim that Trumpies and Hillarites do the same amounting chanting is just that, an empty claim. One which I highly doubt. Both would be a disaster? As I thing I've said, Hillary isn't all to my liking, but any reasonable conservative should see that she's to the right of most Democrats. Right now, reasonable conservatives are out of season. However, I've been impressed the way Hillary has been on the campaign trail and appearing before hostile Congressional committees out to get her. IMHO, she has proven herself to be tough, intelligent, and capable. Trump is tough and intelligent. But he is not capable. To him, this race is nothing but another shiny hotel to add to his mantle. He does not care about making America great, but rather making Trump great. The other Republicans brag about their "conservative" credentials. But they don't explain what that means--in everyday terms--to the average guy. . How will deregulation improve my drinking water or give me more reliable electricity? . How will deregulation make my food and medicine safer? . How will less government help me if I should become seriously disabled? . How will blind loyalty to the cops make me safer?
