Good choice. Sort of odd for a member of my generation but I rode in a Beetle once, and drove one about 100' when a coworker's was blocking the loading dock. I loved the concept of being able to mix and match parts when American cars changed every year, plus the simplicity of an air-cooled engine but somehow I never owned one. There's a shop in town that specializes in old Beetles and I always look when I drive by but I have too many vehicles already. The closest I came was an Audi 100LS. VW's initial attempts at building a car with the engine on the other end weren't very good and the state of the 1970's art controllers were good at bricking themselves. Like clockwork every 15,000 miles it would decide the plug wires were out of spec and not start. I carried spares.

It gives you your choice of expert to call on to do the work for you, without being tied to the original company that made the vehicle. This is called “free-market competition”. It’s the essence of Open Source software, too.

That shouldn't be a problem. Android emulators have been used for development for years, although I remember the one used by Android Studio as being painfully slow. However that was back around Ice Cream Sandwich in 2011 when we were developing an Android product. I also have a vague memory of AWS having a collection of emulated devices so you could test against specific devices rather than having a big cabinet of physical Android phones. I've never played with one but I do know there are Linux emulators so you can run something like Instagram on your desktop.
