Atomic bombs in that region will make most of the middle east uninhabitable for centuries. This is so, because that region is very 'dusty' and will distribute fall-out all over the place, because there is so little vegatation, which could eventually stop the spreading. Another issue: if there is an 'atomic shoot-out' between the west and the east, this will most likely not stop there, but will include the rest of the world, too. But in a way, I like life and don't want to die for such stupidity. TH

Marie Curie was Polish. Edward Teller was Hungarian, too, and Robert Oppenheimer was American. Otto Hahn was actually German, but was not involved in the atomic bomb development. Germans could have build an atomic bomb, for sure, but didn't want. Atomic bombs are a stupid weapon, because they are extremely large and destroy simply too much. For relatively small countries like Germany atomic bombs are not an option and are regarded as a waste of money. But Germans could build one (or more) if they wanted to do so. TH
