March 31 (Reuters) - Gold prices on Monday soared above $3,100 per ounce
for the first time as concerns around U.S. President Donald Trump's
tariffs and the potential economic fallout, combined with geopolitical
worries, drove a fresh wave of investments into the safe-haven asset.

Spot gold prices hit a record high of $3,106.50 per ounce.

Gold prices have hit multiple record highs, gaining more than 18% so far
this year - capitalising on its cachet as hedge against economic and
geopolitical turbulence.

Earlier this month, it breached the psychological $3,000 per ounce mark
for the first time - a significant milestone that experts say reflects
growing concerns over economic instability, geopolitical tensions and
inflation.

Bullion's rally has prompted multiple banks to increase their price
forecasts for gold this year.
"For now, gold's appeal as a safe haven and inflation hedge has further
strengthened in light of these geopolitical concerns and tariff
uncertainty. We remain constructive on the outlook of gold amid ongoing
global trade friction and uncertainty," said analysts at OCBC.

Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and UBS have all raised their price targets
for the yellow metal this month, with Goldman forecasting gold to hit
$3,300/oz by the end of the year, up from $3,100. BofA expects gold to
trade at $3,063/oz in 2025 and $3,350/oz in 2026 - an increase from its
previous forecasts of $2,750/oz for 2025 and $2,625/oz for 2026

### - gold actually surged to $3,150.52 this morning as this bulletin was
being copied across before then falling back to $3,137.93 only moments
later, stock markets across asia tumbling 4% upon opening at the prospect
of the tariffs being imposed worldwide now taking effect, different
nation's potentially negative or even angry reactions to it likely only
pushing gold higher depending on which way they go, but clearly no one's
very happy about being driven out of stocks and into gold...

smile, hey maybe it's time i cashed-in all those kilo-bars have got
stashed under my mattress for the last 20 years, they must be worth summat
by now huh ;)

### - waited a few days to see what happens, but gold actually hit $3,225
at one point yesterday before falling right back again at close, the
markets in disarray and uproar with the dow dropping 5.8% before slowly
gaining again, it's all over the place sheesh!

chatter suggesting that anger is steadily growing in europe at america and
this stunt they've pulled on the rest of the world, this right in the
middle of a growing financial crisis brought-on by covid AND the troubles
in ukraine, it being viewed as being incredibly 'selfish' of THE richest
nation in the world to be adding to everyone's struggles at this already
difficult time, resentment being such, and building, to the point of maybe
even telling america to go fuck itself, that they wont retaliate with
tariffs if only because history suggests tariffs never work out in the
long term and only ever leads to things like the great depression and ww2,
that what they'll instead do is to just boycott america altogether, they
can still buy anything they want from us at the normal price but we ain't
buying ANYTHING from them at ANY price! and let's see how they get-along
with that little lot!

ditto nato, they's thinking of disbanding nato (which is very expensive
and everything to do with taking orders from america) and form their OWN
european version, in which case america can remove all their bases,
weapons and armies & influence from europe and we'll deal with russia and
china on our own terms and in our own way!

ditto too the united nations, which again is heavily american influenced?
they're thinking they'll maybe create a new, 'independent' version of the
UN and invite every nation to join it on a purely equal basis, with no
bonus votes or vetos accepted! one nation one vote and that's it! a strict
condition of joining being that of fully signing-up to the ICC and we'll
let the ICC be the world police!

ditto too the dollar being the reserve currency and america getting a cut
of just about every exchange on the planet, that's gonna be over too and
no one's gonna be more advantaged than anyone else, we'll still work with
anyone who wont sign-up to the new charters just don't expect any favours
if you're gonna be opposing/working against the unity of it, and coz the
era of privilege from wealth is over!

smile, i dunno if it's really all gonna go THAT far but interesting if it
did? but it's actually leaning in that direction now such is the growing
anger at america, who, after all, is only a minority nation of 360 million
despite their great wealth? i mean, who the fuck do they think they are to
bully and coerce the rest of planet like this ffs, making an already
difficult life even harder for what??

just so THEY can get even richer than they already ARE???

it's looking like america has actually offended the whole planet! and
things could go very badly for them if/when they find themselves up
against not only the 'intelligence' and 'disdain' of the rest of the world
but also it's contempt, a world opposing them as opposed to advancing them!

coz we's hurt and we're *losing* that loving feeling, ya know?

it all depends on what happens next of course, but europe's getting busy
securing themselves in the meantime coz they feel like they've just been
stabbed in the back by their closest, most trusted friend!

they's all thinking fuck america, that they'll take all their businesses
and their cars to the rest of the world instead, and cut america out
altogether!

and coz, well, THEY started it huh!

(they's actually all fuming!)
