I used this statue (Collosus of Rhodes) at the entrance of the Phoenician port of Rhodes and compared it to the Statue of Liberty. By this I wanted to show, that the Phoenicians still exist, are still powerful are still in control of harbours. They had apparently changed their name and do not call themselves 'Phoenicians' any more (if they ever did). The Roman harbour - btw- had a similar statue, hence we can assume, they had control over Rome (at least its harbour), too. From Rome we can draw lines through history, to were Romans have been (France, England, Germany, Egypt and so forth) and assume, these people had left some kind of influence at former colonies. Their 'modus oprandi' and their field of interest was mainly gold and silver, trade, secrecy and keeping wealth inside the own circles and families. This we find in other realms, like in 'coporatism' as 'American way of business'. Also the 'City of London' seems to be run on similar ideas. This sun-god was in my opinion the 'logo' of the Phoenicians, even if the name has changed.
