Does anyone here know if this file uniquely identifies my windows laptop online? It cannot be deleted in the normal fashion. What is it's purpose? C:\Windows\WinSxS\FileMap \users_default_appdata_local_microsoft_windows_inetcookies_ 706c81867N876542f.cdf-ms thx for any replies.

From the description it looks like it s a cookie, so it might uniquely identify your machine.

It disappeared a day or so later so guessing it was a cookie, but I am not sure it's purpose.
